First One on the New Highway?

Were members of CRC the first people (non-workers) to actually ride on the new highway?  Just think how good it will be when they actually put some pavement down.  Reverse order tonight, Malden first.  Malden is looking a little rough right now.  Morton however was in phenomenal shape.  Good ride 1:30, 20 km.  Thanks to Scotty who brought the "premium" beer.  Next up is Matt then Jeremy.  Thanks again for the swim Mark.

Attendance

Wow, Jeremy finally missed a week!  Must have been something serious to keep him away.  There seems to be a bunch of guys who have no life at the top of the attendance and then a big drop off to the others that do.  Scotty is bringing beer next week.

CRC in Horseshoe Valley

Team CRC headed to the gruelling hills of Horseshoe Valley, ON for a Centurion race this weekend. The team all completed the course in under 3 hours for a very successful outing. Mike Smith had great success finishing 5th in his age category:)

One incident, while stopped in the feed zone another rider took it upon himself to ram Jim from behind (literally). Luckily Jim was okay just a little sad that the guy didn't stay to cuddle.

Jim, Mike, Matt, Mark

It was a great event and is something for all to think about next year!!!!

Beer Order

Nice to see Scotty back out.  Smitty's attendance has been frozen, although I did give him a half point for chips.  Nearing the bottom of the beer list.  Smitty is up next.

CRC Off-Bike Training

Due to the high level of dedication, training and commitment to the sport of cycling.  CRC members have a unique off-bike training program.  It also helps that many of them are unemployed.

Beautiful Night For A Ride

As you can see I am very busy on this Thursday morning.

Last night it was wet and wild like a trip to Ali's love den. We headed out to Malden to test out the new race course (a roadies dream), we were soon hit by the torrential downpours, and downed trees blocking the trail. One safety conscious rider decided to brave, "the hill" in the light show (note he did not make the top). We then took shelter and shared biking tips with the children of Asia.

After a impromptu weather report by Chuck Jacques (see below) we braved the storm and the downed power lines. After making it home safe and sound we gorged on chips and delicious beer. Thanks to Jay and Mark for the hospitality and the treats! Next up for beer is Mike, however not sure he is up for it.  If not, Craig is up next. Now back to my work.
