Entertaining Night

Not sure what was more entertaining tonight......... 4 wipeouts by one individual, 1 wipeout each by three others, watching Jeremy cry over the Tigers, or having many brown outs near the end of the ride and trying to find someone to lead.    For some, the night got off to a bad start with Rob "Brown Eye" Charlebois forgetting to charge his lights but not realizing it until we got to the trail head. For others, the tough part of the ride came when we hit the trail (Jay, Craig, Ali).  And lastly, the worst part of the night came for others while watching the Tigers game (Jeremy and Mark).
Possibly the best October 24th weather ever!  71 degrees at ride time.  Still, some people opted for long sleeves only to regret it.  Who would have thought we would be sitting around watching the World Series in Ali's backyard in shorts and t-shirts at this time of year.
Thanks to Jeremy for the brews and chips.  Much movement with the standings tonight.  Mark saves third place with his bag of chips.  Next up for beers is Jim.  However, no ride next week due to Hallowe'en.

Oh What a Night!

Gents,
And I use the term loosely, to quote Frankie Vallie, it was a fantastic night for riding!  Weather was stud like, food was gourmet and company was solid.  Matt the pasta salad and shrimp were delicious, as was the CHILL.  Mark, soups were fabulous and my class loved the end results! Ali thanks for hosting.
Those trails were in great shape, and ready for another ride next week.
For our Tigers slappys, we should think about getting out for a game at Shotz.  Think about it about put out some ideas.  Not every day the World Series is next door!  Next up for beers is  supposed to be Mark but I think he has provided enough beers here and there that we can skip him.  Jer, you are up next!

New Addition!

We'll it took some time but there is now a new addition to the Charlebois stable...
Introducing my new Trek Madone 6.5 {cue the AC/DC "Back in Black"}.
Weighing at a rumoured 15 lbs and just screaming to go fast, this beauty will make all future centuries much more enjoyable.  This bike has everything I was hoping for and then some. I haven't had much chance to ride yet but am looking forward to the next break in the weather.
Special thanks to Craig who brokered the deal, funded it (although he doesn't realize that yet... boohaa haa) and delivered it.  The colours are even sweet... goodbye white Stetson, here comes Back in Black!
No more Mr. Nice Guy on the road!

What a Feast!

Riders ready at 6:00 (I was taking the picture)
How many CRC riders does it take????
Kind of a different ride tonight.  Besides the loads of email chatter about where to ride, the weather didn't really cooperate, causing a number of weaker, less tough, smaller weenies, "it's too cold", "I don't feel good", girlie riders to bail on the ride.  However, the ride went on (see picture above).  Not to say that the ride was anything but smooth though.  For starters, Jay forgot the beer (hence, not in the picture).  Secondly, it was f****ing cold and windy.  We decided that since the wind was from the west we would head over to Little River and enjoy a nice tailwind on the way home (which we did).  We hit some singletrack at Little River and then it happened.  Mark got a flat.  No big deal.  How many and how long does it take CRC riders to change a flat? (see picture).  Very long as a matter of fact.  To the point where we were thinking we might miss dinner.

On to dinner..... what a feast!  Thanks to Roxanne (no Mike, you did not do anything) for cooking up amazing ribs and chilli.  Although I didn't have any desert, Matt assured me that the apple crust and ice cream were awesome.  Next up for beers is Matt.  Hopefully next week will be a littler warmer.

Beautiful Night

Beautiful night for a ride!  1:50 of riding time, almost all in the dark.  Nice to see a good turnout.  Thanks to Mark for providing us with some grub at the end and to Rob for finally bringing the beer.  Next week, change of venue.  Mike has promised us a special treat (don't get excited Jay) so we will be doing an east side ride.  We may do two groups one road, one not, or we may do mountain bikes on the road.  To be discussed over email later.  Maybe Rob can remember to bring the red dragon maybe Scott can get his virgin ride in.
